Before arriving at the venue, I couldn’t imagine the magnitude of what last night’s event would be like. Although it’s well known that metal is a very popular genre, just like rock and others, it’s rare to witness a sold-out event, at least in the DMV area. To my surprise, that wasn’t the case with Babymetal, as they achieved a full house that made every corner of The Anthem vibrate.

At 8 p.m., the event began, and Scene Queen, the opening act, took the stage, delivering a remarkable performance that energized the audience and got them ready for the main act.

A little later, the lights went out again, and Babymetal appeared, led by Suzuka Nakamoto. In that moment, the atmosphere completely changed. The crowd began cheering and raising their hands, followed by jumping and shouting that didn’t stop until the concert ended.

The connection between the band and the audience was astonishing. In every chorus, over 6,000 people united as one voice. The mosh pit and pogo were spectacles in their own right. Even during Karate, the excitement remained intact, with flashlights illuminating the venue like stars in the sky. Every detail was crafted to immerse the audience in BabyMetal’s universe: from the setlist, which included hits like Gimme Chocolate!!, Head Bangya!!, and Ratatata, to the flawless visuals and choreography.

When it felt like the concert could last all night, the final chords of Road of Resistance, accompanied by the powerful voices of Su-metal, Moa-metal, and Momo-metal, echoed in the air. The lights came on, leaving a unique feeling in the atmosphere: the sense of having been part of something truly special. Babymetal didn’t just deliver a concert—they put on a show full of energy and passion.

It’s often said that music is a universal language, and if there’s one thing BabyMetal achieved at The Anthem, besides everything else mentioned, it was connecting deeply with their audience. Because if there’s one thing that became clear tonight, it’s that metal isn’t just something you listen to—it’s something you feel in every fiber of your being.

«¡BABYMETAL Arrasa Washington DC con un Show Épico en The Anthem!»

Previo a llegar al recinto, no imaginaba la magnitud de lo que sería el evento de ayer. Aunque es bien sabido que el metal es un género muy popular, al igual que el rock y otros estilos, pocas veces sucede el acontecimiento de un sold out, al menos en lo que corresponde al distrito del DMV. Para mi sorpresa, ese no fue el caso con BabyMetal, ya que lograron un lleno absoluto que hizo vibrar cada rincón de The Anthem.

A las 8 p.m., el evento comenzó y Scene Queen, la banda telonera, salió al escenario, ofreciendo una notable presentación que dejó al público lleno de energía y listo para el acto principal.

Un rato después, las luces se apagaron nuevamente y apareció BabyMetal, liderada por Suzuka Nakamoto. En ese instante, el ambiente cambió por completo. La gente comenzó a aclamar y alzar los brazos, seguido de brincos y gritos que no cesaron hasta el final del concierto.

La conexión entre la banda y el público fue asombrosa. En cada coro, más de 6,000 personas se unieron como una sola voz. El mosh pit y el pogo fueron un espectáculo en sí mismos. Incluso durante Karate, la emoción permaneció intacta, con linternas iluminando el lugar como si fueran estrellas en el cielo.
